Just love that story, I've been following you since I first found you on Facebook. Rickenbacker is my fav bass, to which I don't play, but my love who recently passed away (cancer) his mother bought him a 4001 Mapleglo back in 1977, she's a beautiful bass! 🎸🖤

While I get loving your heroes (Hey I confess I'm a huge Macca fan, 2nd generation fan born in 1975, listening since I was 6 years old), giving your prized right handed Rick 4001 to a multi-millionaire musician who is left handed and has a Rick 4001 of his own seems really goofy. Thankfully, McCartney has class and wasn't going to be a supreme dick and keep it. He wanted you to have it. Sadly the story takes a ride down rough terrain as his 19 year old self still had some poor decisions to make. I get selling guitars we love. To this day I still hold out hope that the 1962 Epiphone Casino single pickup (Serial # 73640) that I stupidly let go will return to me. That regret and sadness felt when the guitar returns to your memory nearly once a day is a hard thing to deal with Holmes ...Glad you got it back!!

GREAT STORY !

I had a 1995 Epiphone les paul jr that was stolen from me. My friend Brian painted the Guinness beer logo on it. I've been looking for it for 22 years. I'm even offering a reward for it too.

In 1975 I was 14 years. I was a young kid playing foosball. In the Northwest panhandle of Florida. I live just north of Destin Florida. In a little town called Niceville. Junior's farm would always be on the jukebox at a place called foosball City. I heard Junior's farm on the radio earlier today. So that's how I got here. What an awesome memory that Dan has shared. It brings back memories of my own. Thanks Dan hope you're doing well wherever you're at. God bless

Somebody always cutting someone out of their will, George's wife cuts his sister out, Oohh, ooh Yoko cuts Julian out of the choice, Paul cuts out of Liverpool 'n' everybody there, Ringo kids seem to be alright fending for themselves really. I don't know if Ringo cut anyone out, I don't even know what he did in the Beatles for that matter, I know Ringo just passes me by, makes me cry, makes me blues cause darling I got everyone but you. George Harrison went up against the two best songwriters, probably of all time, and in the End, was coming up with the goods as good if not better than John and paul. he Ended up being one of the greats. You were the man, George there is no other like you, nor will there B.

Thanks Dan, such a great story, McCartney, Wings, the Rick, Jr's. Farm and the 42 year hunt. Amazing! I had a (1974) 4001 bass Maple Rick (Lefty) got in pawn and returned to the Pawnshop a couple years later, after realizing the bonehead move, went back to repurchase but she was gone, never to be seen again. Also in Baltimore there was a Music Shop named Stringer's Music World, Eddie Stringer was the owner. Nice place, closed long ago...wonder if they were related to the person in your story? Paul said we recorded Junior's Farm "right here." Of course, that was in Nashville, 180 miles west of Knoxville.
